Video Production

Video production is the creation of making a movie, or a clip. To make video's you will definitely need a camera or computer. When you plan out what you want your movie to be about you can film it or if it is an animation, you can download a software for video editing. If you are shooting an actual video instead of animating one, you need to keep your camera steady, zoom slowly and identify the background (places). You can then upload it on the computer and begin editing. Once edited and finished, you can upload it wherever you want to.

 

Create A Holiday Card - Code

Today my teacher let the class go on www.code.org/learn to do anything we want. I decided to make a moving holiday card and had to learn how to do it by trial and error.

 First I picked on what I wanted to do

You then watch the tutorial on the side

After watching the tutorial you will then pick the background of your holiday card

Once the background is picked choose your character or characters

 

When your background and characters are chosen, you type in what you want them to say or if you want them to move.

 

I had fun playing around with this, and it didn't take long to catch onto at all.

 

Coding

Today in class I got to experience coding. To learn about coding I played a game to see just how easy it is or hard it is. I went on http://learn.code.org and watched a video talking about it. After I watched this video I then got to try coding for myself. At first I found coding really easy but by the 16th puzzle it started getting harder. You were introduced to the what if blocks, and that is what confused me, and I finishing puzzles after that. To make this website and game better I would give more hints and help then just the first video you watch. Even though I got frustrated at times it was still fun and I enjoyed playing this game.

Stop Motion - Cup Cake

For our stop motion, Me and Brittany found out that we had to make it about Humpty Dumpty to enter it into the Humpty project on animation chefs. We made a story about how humpty dumpty was sitting on the bowl and that he fell in and turned into a cupcake. We had a lot of fun with this, and tried to make it as cool as we could. enjoy ☺

Stop Motion Project

Myself and Brittany have been thinking about our stop motion project. We came up with the idea to make a stop motion out of the process of making cupcakes.  We will be using an iphone to take the pictures for the stop motion. We are going to record this in Brittanys kitchen and the lighting will stay the same because of the room light. We are excited to work on this and for others to see it.

I chose this photograph because the multiple lines made the grass look interesting and it leads you into the photo.
Value

 

I chose this photograph because the clouds in the sky show value from the darker shades and the lighter shades.
Texture

 

 

I chose this photograph because the grey part of the speaker has texture and it looks like it has texture.
Movement

 

I chose this photograph because it shows me running around in that moment, so this picture shows my movement.
Unity/Harmony

 

 

 

This is unity/harmony because everything in the picture comes together to make a whole and the trees link together to form unity.
Repetition/Pattern

 

 

I chose this photograph because it shows that the lockers are repeating each other, and that they are in a pattern.
Emphasis

 

I chose this photograph because it shows emphasis by the camera being focused on the juice box and the background blurred out.

 

 

 

Culture Project

For my Culture project I chose 5 pictures that represent different topics with things that I do often and that represents who I am.

Hunting

During the fall season, my family and I leave home and go to camp for 2 weeks; we take time off of school & work to go hunting. During hunting season we try and get at least 2 moose. When you get the moose you then have moose meat to eat for the year and we then give some back to the community too feed other people. I chose this picture because it represents something that has never changed in my life as I grew up.

Hiking

During the year, my friends and I like to go hiking up the mountains around our town. It takes us about a half an hour to get to the top but after we get to the top we just sit there and look at the view and socialize with each other or if we feel up to it, we go and look around. This is significant to me because I have been doing this since I was 8.

Winter

 Every year we get snow from November til May, sometimes shorter or sometimes longer. During the winter months my family and I go ice fishing, trapping, snow machining and many other things. This is my favourite season because there is so much to do outside and you could always find something to occupy yourself with like making snow men and snow forts. I decided to put this into my project because some places do not get snow.

Hockey

From October to March, most of my friends and I play hockey. Hockey season is an exciting thing around here because everyone gets to come out and play hockey and for those who don’t play hockey they can come to the community arena and watch our hometown team play. This is a cultural thing for me because all of my family is revolved around hockey, everyone in my household has or does play hockey.

Powwow

 

Every summer in the area that I live, there is a powwow which is a weekend where aboriginal people come from different towns and cities to meet up and have a gathering. During this gathering people put up food stands and little shops so you could buy things. The main reason to go to a powwow is to dance. There are drummers in the centre of the circle and they sing and people dress up in their cultural costumes and they dance around the drummers to show their respect to all the aboriginals and everything we have gotten and are thankful for.

 

Different Types of Lighting

 

This is front lighting. The light is going directly onto the leaves on the tree and making the leaves look bigger and brighter, also the lighting is darker in the background making the leaves stand out more.

This is top lighting. This lighting is brighter at the top of the picture because of the sun, which then gives the leaves and ground a glare.

 

This is side lighting. The light on the left is darker then the right side and eventually it gets brighter and brighter when it moves right.

 

Culture Project Ideas

 

 

Today, we as a class have started brain storming about how to show our culture to the people in Mexico & England. When thinking about this topic, I imagined showing how every fall, in Ontario, my family goes hunting & we take time off to spend time doing that in the bush with our family. Another idea I got, was to show how hockey is a really big sport around here for everyone. I think those two idea's would show how I like to spend my time in Canada, and it will show them how different or how similar we are to each other. With these idea's I am looking forward to starting this project and seeing the outcome.  

Angles

The angle of this image is a high level. The artist makes you feel like you are on top of the stairs and you are walking down towards the bottom, the subject for this image is season's in art. They are trying to create a fall feeling.

Testing out App Maker

Today, in media arts we were testing out a new product called app maker, where you get to design your own app. When you start you get a screen like the one below.

 

 

Then after that you get to choose what you want to put in your "iphone". you choose from the things in the picture below.

From there on you get to choose what you would like to use in your app. You also get to design and change the colours. The image below if my final project.

 

 I found this website very fun to use, and could keep you entertained for a while. I think many people would like to try this out, and could become very popular!

Photography Walk

 

 

Photography Walk

Today, We went for a walk during class to take photo's of different textures, angles and light reflections. Out of all my picture I took I found that this one looks the best out of them all. It shows the reflection on the water, but then it also shows different light forms, for example it is lighter on one side then the other. I think this was a really interesting class and I would be interested in learning more about photography. 

 

Ansel Adams Photography

This photo by Ansel Adams is an older picture. It's settings are in the middle of a park, where there is just one tree standing out more then all, and the ground is covered in snow and so are the branches. The photograph is in black and white, and the artist is trying to capture one tree more then the rest. This one tree is centered out and the other tree's are farther back in the background, which leaves you to focus on the main tree. The tree trunk is black, with little specks of white all over but mostly black, then the branches are all white, and it looks like it gets brighter at the top of the tree.
